We must expend the effort ourselves, look inside and experience this nature of dhamma, understand it, and clearly comprehend the unfolding phenomena we find there. We can understand how things come to be—not because someone told us but because we see for ourselves.

Bhante Henepola Gunaratana (1927 CE-), Bhante Henepola Gunaratana is a Sri Lankan Theravada Buddhist monk. He is affectionately known as Bhante G.[1] Bhante Gunaratana is currently the abbot of the Bhavana Society, a monastery and meditation retreat center that he founded in High View, West Virginia in 1985.
