Fūgai Ekun (1568 CE-1650 CE), Fūgai Ekun was an eccentric Japanese Soto Zen monk, painter, and calligrapher. He practiced meditation in caves in emulation of Bodhidharma, giving him the nickname "Ana Fugai" (穴風外). He excelled at ink paintings of Daruma, Hotei, and self portraits.
