Receiving the teaching or receiving what we call transmission should not be confused with something that is a ritual or a ceremony.

When something is transmitted to you and you understand what it is, then with that knowledge you can arrive at what we call wisdom. And that is how we realize ourselves. This is something quite important to understand.



Chögyam Trungpa (1939-1987), Chögyam Trungpa was a Tibetan Buddhist meditation master and holder of both the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, scholar, teacher, poet, artist, and originator of a radical re-presentation of Tibetan Buddhist teachings.
